Helping you achieve the freedom you desire.
Phil’s Story
Small businesses don’t fail because their product or service isn’t good enough, it nearly always is. It's the neglect of clarity, commitment, and consistency in the following areas.
Positioning : Differentiation in their market. Holding a space in the customers mind that pulls them away from the competition and towards their business.
Performance : Establishing an operating system for consistently hitting results. Clear vision, company health metrics, effective communication, and role structure that will lead to desired outcomes.
Profit : Clearly understanding the financials of the business, engrained margin discipline, and prioritizing activities in the business that affect the needed change.
Over the past 13 years of entrepreneurship Phil has implemented these three pillars into his own businesses by way of experience, being coached by others, and curated resources. Now, his purpose is being a catalyst for other creative entrepreneurs to achieve the freedom they desire in terms of control, wealth, and time. Relationships are the key to overcoming obstacles, and he aims to be that supportive voice for as many business owners as possible.
In 2010, Phil and Anna launched their first business, Three Pennies, a photography and design studio that helped small businesses with branding, commercial photography, and event photography. Those early years taught them the tough lessons of hiring, growth, and paying Uncle Sam.
In 2014, Phil opened Foster, a co-working space for solo creative entrepreneurs in downtown Atlanta. With over 50 members and regular events he became familiar with the patterns and challenges that creative entrepreneurs face. His passion grew for creating platforms where entrepreneurs could connect and expand their knowledge.
Phil's biggest venture, Citizen Supply, took off in 2015 at the prestigious Ponce City Market. This 12,000-foot retail store welcomed hundreds of thousands of people each year and provided a platform for independent purveyors to sell their goods. Over it’s six years, Citizen Supply contributed millions to small businesses, offered an exceptional experience to patrons, and gained national recognition.
Currently Phil resides in beautiful Chattanooga, Tennessee along with Anna, his wife, and three kiddos, Oliver, Emmett, and Marigold. After 22 years in Atlanta they decided to move closer to nature and family. Regular trips down to the city still allow Phil to connect with clients, community and the city that he loves.
